Belquis is a first-year PhD student with a mechanical engineering background (BSc American University in Cairo, 2019) and a European photonics technologies background (Aix-Marseille and Tampere Universities, 2020/1). The focus of her research is on developing a microfluidic platform to study neurodegenerative disease integrating optogenetics, microelectrode arrays, and organoids.
